Fairness Doctrine

Thursday, February 12, 2009

I will never fully understand the liberal mentality in this country. The left considers themselves the champions and saviors of the First Amendment. They’ll come running to the defense of filthy mouthed rap stars, smut peddlers like Larry Flynt and even pedophile organizations like NAMBLA. And if you speak out about any of these assholes, they’ll quickly point out that there is a freedom of speech in this country.

It’s all good until you say something that that they don’t like. Or better yet, until you expose their ignorance and stupidity. Then there’s a serious problem. They need to shut you down at that point. They are all about tolerance until you disagree with them.

For decades, the big three networks dominated the airwaves with a strong Democratic bias (I highly recommend Bernie Goldberg’s book on the subject). Everything was going great for the left. Ted Kennedy was partying by the lakeside. Bill Clinton was smoking cigars and anything in a short skirt. And Marion Barry was laying pipe with crack whores. Oh yeah, it was a good time to be a Democrat.

That classic Meatloaf song just popped into my head…..STOP RIGHT THERE! I GOTTA KNOW RIGHT NOW! BEFORE WE GO ANY FARTHER…….”

Anyway....

Out of nowhere, talk radio reared its ugly head and took the liberals by surprise. All of a sudden, the conservatives had a voice. As Rush Limbaugh and others gained larger audiences, the left started to squirm. They felt so exposed!

“How dare those conservatives disagree with us!” cried the tree huggers.

“They have no right to say things like that!” screamed Hollywood.

“We’ll sue them!” shouted the scumbag lawyers.

“Whatever Limbaugh says about me and that intern is a God damned lie!” screeched Slick Willy in his characteristic raspy voice.

It was a great time to be a Republican. Conservatives were licking their chops watching the loony left come unglued. The libs were pissed off and there was absolutely nothing they could do about it. So they devised a plan…….

The libs gathered together and said, “Let’s introduce a bullshit policy to help our cause. We can come out, like usual, in the name of diversity and tolerance. Then, we can slap a piece of duct tape over the mouth of talk radio. We’ll ironically call it the Fairness Doctrine! That’ll fix those bastards! Who cares if it’s constitutional or not?”

I find it funny that liberals were always calling Bush a Nazi. When, in reality, they’re the ones that tend to be the proponents of big government and socialistic ideals. With the Fairness Doctrine, it goes against the libs usual mantra of “We have the right to say what we want!”

If the Fairness Doctrine goes through, does this mean that Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh will get prime time spots on CBS or NBC? I seriously doubt it…..
